The Spanish were extremely intrigued to explore the southeastern part of North America mostly because they wanted gold, god, and glory. They wanted to become rich with gold from expeditions that they go with ships. They wanted to spread their religion which was Christianity to other natives so that their religion will be superior. Lastly, the Spanish wanted glory which is basically that the Spanish wanted to become famous. Each individual explorer wanted to become famous in his\her ways.
