Mississippian Indians
The Mississippian Period lasted from 1000 A.D. to 1600 A.D. The Mississippian Indians built very large villages and did not move around like the other past three Indian periods. Therefore, the Mississippian Indians were not nomads. When the Indians built their village, around the village they built palisades to protect the village from intruders. They would also build a moat which is a ditch to stop huge animal herds to hit the village. They also relied more on agriculture and so they would usually eat vegetables like corn, bean, and squash. They were also came from the Mississippian River thus they are called the Mississippian Indians.
