Missouri Comprimise
The Missouri Compromise was passed in 1820. The Missouri Compromise prohibited slavery in Louisiana. The compromise took place during the presidency of president James Monroe. Slavery was not prohibited in Missouri. The compromise also allowed the state of Maine to be permitted into the union as a free state because the senate and house of represenatatives were more on the south side because of slavery, so they made Maine a free state into the union so they could balance out how many members there are in th senate..This compromise was later repealed by the Kansas-Nebraska Act.
